What are your views about pci extreme ?

 Are you suer you´re not talking about PCI Express, the new PCI bus that is to replace PCI 2.2

heard about it from a friend i propobaly got confucu!ated along the way
 
 so is it going to completely replace pci and be backwards comp ?

Yeah, it´s going to replace the current PCI bus. It will have higher bandwidth, hot-swap capabilities and will have some backwards compatibility built in.
