What is Asterisk@Home
The Asterisk@Home project enables the home user to quickly set up an Asterisk PBX. A web GUI makes configuration and operation easy. We also provide an xPL (home automation) interface for easy interaction with other devices in the home.

Does anyone have any experience with this? From what I gather, you can connect up your telephone line to it and have a PBX system. You can also use VoIP through it and even control your toaster from work.
It uses Red Hat Enterprise Linux as its base.
Is it even worth trying considering the sorry state of our current telephone system?
Thanks
