Radeon 9550 256MB 128Bit or Radeon 9600 Pro 128MB 128Bit

Post by Locksmith »

I would like to upgrade my Gforce 2 MX400 to
Radeon 9550 256MB 128Bit or Radeon 9600 Pro 128MB 128Bit

But for some reason i think the Radeon 9600 is better.

Who can help?
IBM XT 12.3Mhz
640KB Memory
10MB HDD
320KB Video Mem
No Floppy.

Apparantly the Radeon 9550 is a 9600 with slower timing.

I take it the memory timing on the 9950 is set to be slower.

It can be moded to become a 9600 Pro or a 9600 XT.

Mighit be worth getting the 9550 cus then i have a 9600PRO with 256 MB RAM
IBM XT 12.3Mhz
640KB Memory
10MB HDD
320KB Video Mem
No Floppy.

The 9600Pro might have an RV360 core which then means you can mod it to XT. Between those 2 cards, definetly go with the 9600Pro!
