Hidden files

I had 1.6 gigsof some sort of of files in the Documents and settings folder,problem when you only have a 8 gig hardrive, they were hidden. I tried selecting it by pressing ctrl-A so I could delete them but a message came up saying to see them I had to change the properties of a folder. Instead of making these files visible I made te folder hidden. How do I get it visible again.

Open windows explorer, go to tools, folder options, view and tick show hidden files and folders. Do not delete the document and settings folder. All your desktop icons and documents and windows settings are stored in that folder!!!
