Ram and 3dmark03 scores
Ram and 3dmark03 scores
Hi guys, Pesently score about 7500 points on my system. AMD 64 3000, 6600GT card and 2 x 256 DDR 400. Should an extra 512 meg ram give an increase in benchmarking scores??

I think 3dmark03 mainly depends on uour GFX card..
Is it PCI-Express? if so and you have the cash you can Either get an extra 6600GT if not then dont worry much about the score unless you want to boast a lot...
The main point for a GFX card is to play games not to benchmark it.
*edit* oh and welcome to the forums

Another card won't help him unless he has a SLI capable board and chipset.....either nForce 4 Ultra or SLI.Is it PCI-Express? if so and you have the cash you can Either get an extra 6600GT if not then dont worry much about the score unless you want to boast a lot...
Dakdriver: Amount of sys mem rarely plays a role in gfx benchmarks, rather the speeds (latencies) of this mem. For example, more often than not, mem running at say, 240 fsb (ddr480) and 2-2-2-5 timings, will kick the crap out of mem running 275 fsb (ddr550) and 3-4-4-8 timings.
So, go for the tightest timings at the highest speed you can do. At this point in time get PQI TCCD memory. Best available for tight timings and high speed. If you get tccd memory, get the ones based on Brainpower PCB's.
Cpu still plays a rather huge roll in 3dM03.I think 3dmark03 mainly depends on uour GFX card..
