Hardened picture of ages (resistance to removal= 100%)

Post by Dunhelm »

Hi everyone.

I have a problem with the picture that shows up as u load windows. as it is almost finished loading up it shows a crap old wallpaper picture from like years ago. Then a couple of seconds later it shows the real wallpaper and then everythings normal.
At first i thought ahhh it must be that my active desktop was being viewed as a web page and the new wallpaper was on that but that the old wallpaper was being showed before it loaded my active desktop as a web page. Anyway to get to the point i right clicked my desktop went to view my active desktop as> and then deselected >as my web page then changed the wallpaper on that to the same as my new one. Then restart... and voila... it didnt work at all. still shows this oooold picture (i dont know the dir. where its kept.) can anyone help?
Doubt anyone can because this is the internet cafe´s pc and all their technicians have tried to change it without any success.

Cheers all.

I think that this problem can be fixed, the load up screen when you start up windows is saved as logo.sys in the c:windows folder, there is another one which says logow.sys, remove both of them and back them up onto another macine and try restarting, this could work, if not then put back either logo.sys or logow.sys and see what happens, either one of these files could have been replaced by someone.

try it out!

Good try but didnt work. In case anyone is confused about the problem it was once an old backgroound wallpaper, and it appears just before our current wallpaper shows up.

there´s a simple workaround that you can do to solve your glitch... go to Start > Settings > Control Panel > Display, in the Background Tab choose None from the list of possible wallpapers that you can use > Apply. after doing so select your previous wallpaper > Apply > OK. alternatively, provided that your current wallpaper is not an HTML file, just save it as a Windows Bitmap (BMP) and make that BMP file as your wallpaper. that´s all that needs to be done - no need for a techie.
