Suspect RAM issue
Suspect RAM issue
Howsit guys,
I recently purchased another matching set of Corsair Vengeance Pro 8GB 2400MHz CL11 RAM.
Now I have a total of 16GB RAM.
Ever since I installed the new RAM my games keep crashing. Sometimes my system just BSOD's.
I've ran Memtest86 on each set of RAM individually as well as together for about 2 passes each. (This took hours!)
No errors.
I can put any set in my PC on it's own, and everything is fine.
I can't play games for more than a few minutes with both sets of RAM installed without having it crash.
I have all the latest drivers and software for everything.
I initially had this problem while using Windows 8.1 Pro x64. So I went and wasted my time formatting back to Windows 7. Still the same problem..
I'm really annoyed now and don't know what else to do.
Please advise.

Re: Suspect RAM issue
remove one stick of ram at a time and see if the issue continues
(so remove stick one - try system. System crashes. Replace stick one, remove stick 2 etc)

Re: Suspect RAM issue
Thanks Monty,
I will try this soon. Suspecting possible faulty RAM slot on Motherboard.
I'll let you guys know.

Re: Suspect RAM issue
Sure motherboard is compatible with that ram in that combination? Had similar issues with my mothetboard, crashing when all ram slots populated, only to learn that the full setup was not supported by the board.

Re: Suspect RAM issue
Howsit guys.
Update:
Got my board swapped out for a new one. Still Blue screens when I manually set the DRAM to 2400MHz or when I enable XMP.
My supplier recommended that I set the RAM to 2133MHz and see how it runs. It is running fine now on 2133MHz.
I can live with this
