Good 120hz monitor?
Good 120hz monitor?
Preferably 23", and where do they have them in stock? I went looking for a Samsung Series 9 but 27" is all I could find.

Re: Good 120hz monitor?
I also looked at the normal sites and sadly I don't see a single one. Even tried the ASUS 3D screens since they used to be 120hz but looks like everyone is now chasing IPS with 60hz. Cannot even find the samsung 700 series 3D 120hz screens.
Re: Good 120hz monitor?
Thanks anyway. I was going to just title this thread 'Dear StarBound' but decided against it.
You have 27" right? Would you recommend it?

Re: Good 120hz monitor?
I have the 23". 27" is just too big for me. I would love to replace my current one with another 120hz screen but I'm having trouble tracking them down these days. Even the 750D is no longer available. I suppose you could go for the 27" if you're prepared to push it back a bit more. Mine is already sitting a bit over an arms length from me.

Re: Good 120hz monitor?
Well I might have some good news. Hopefully we can get these:

Philips has announced a new monitor. While at first it might seem like an ordinary Full-HD TN panel-based monitor, it actually isn't. The monitor will be known as the Brilliance 242G5DJEB/75.

October 15th, they say.
I have 2 weeks to decide... you reckon 120hz is worth it, dear? (When the cats on the forum are vegetarians, the rats grow large and this sort of thing happens...)

Re: Good 120hz monitor?
I love my samsung a950d. There is no way I can go back to 60hz for gaming. The colour issue is something that needs to be sorted but it will be as time goes by. Luckly I havent yet been entirely pursuaded that IPS > 120hz. But there is no denying that IPS has superior colour quality when it comes to viewing angles.
The colour issue is something I am familiar with but I wrote it off as WoW had a low colour through put. Maybe I should revisit WoW and burning stepps just to see if it still holds true.

Apparently I am 334ms. Well tested on my 60hz work pc. Since its human reaction time I'll check what it is at home for interest sake.
Average: 303ms over 5 tests, 270ms fastest.

Re: Good 120hz monitor?
So did 5 of these on my 120hz screen and home pc. My reaction time is 237ms average with my last being 237ms. All the gaming devices working as 1 to give the end results?

Re: Good 120hz monitor?
Where did you get a TV and more specifically an IPS screen that has 120hz inputs? Are you sure its not 60hz with the post processing 120hz motion flow?
Re: Good 120hz monitor?
my bad - its actually the american model thats 120hz - mine is 100hzStarBound wrote:Where did you get a TV and more specifically an IPS screen that has 120hz inputs? Are you sure its not 60hz with the post processing 120hz motion flow?
its an LG50LA6210 - specs can be found at
http://www.lg.com/za/tvs/lg-50LA6210
it could be this though even though LG claim 100hz for the 6210 and 120hz for the american 6200 model

Re: Good 120hz monitor?
Ah then no. I have an 55LA6210. Its all 60hz input and the post processing does the rest. True 120hz almost looks the same but the feel is so much more responsive. It will be hard to go back to 60hz. Even 60fps on 120hz feels much better.
