HD6670 Help Please.. Im loosing my mind!!

I have been recently installed the AMD Radeon HD 6670 graphics card. Now the problem comes in when I try to install the Drivers..

First. Windows Picks up the Card as a Standard VGA Adapter.. When I install the drivers it does not install anything.. the card still says Standard VGA Adapter...


PC Specs.
CPU :AMD x2 6000+
Mobo :Gigabyte GA-MA69G-S3H ( AMD 690G chip set)
RAM :8BG dd2 800Mhz
GPU :Gigabyte HD 6670
PSU :Aopen 450w
OS : Win 7 64bit

I have tried

1. Uninstalling Every GPU driver in sight
2. Check Bios setting if not reverted back to onbaord Display
3. Uninstall and reinstall Driver in safe mode
4. Clean windows install
5. driver update through Computer manager (says best driver is already installed)
6. Google my cap gone.. no solution found as yet
7. Tried new drivers from web.
8. Tried older version of drivers from CD
9. threaten to throw PC out the window and never use it again ( seems the PC called my bluff)

I's stunned. I have no Idea what to do/try next..

any ideas?? Please I might go bold in the next few days if I cant solve this!!

Might be very obvious, but I have done this myself once or twice: are you sure that you plugged your monitor into the card?

Try updating the driver via Windows update?

Edit: Is this one of those cards that requires additional power via six/eight pin connectors, and is said power supplied?

Is it this card?
It is stated as requiring 400W- that system only has a 450W psu for total power? So is it perhaps indeed a power issue?

Edit: I see all the cards are rated minimum 400W, with some requiring 500W... I'm guessing you should check that.

Also:

Did you disable the onboard graphics? I see that is an integrated radeon chip.

1.Tried via windows update.. It installs Starbard VGA adaper..
2. Nope no 6pin power conector
3. I wil try card in my pc tonight.. with a 550W truepower PSU
(PS the pc as did run a 8800GT with 6pin conector with out any problems)

You can also choose where to update the driver from, no? How about just pointing it towards your downloaded drivers? If the downloaded drivers is in one file, maybe something like Winrar will enable you to extract it to a folder and then try the pointing thing?

Not a bad idea. GT650 should be quite a bit faster if I am not mistaken.

One last thing. That motherboard can run Hybrid CrossFireX. Is that disabled?

GT650 is a Massive improvement for R300 more.. The GT650 runs very close to my GTX460 I use in my PC..

That's why it's Hybrid CrossFireX.
It uses the onboard chip as the second gpu

Can't actually remember if there is something to change in the BIOS or only Windows. Good luck.

This shouldn't be a power issue because the HD6670 doesn't use that much power (75W power draw from the PCI-Express slot). Kenny, start installing the AMD graphics drivers again but this time extract it to a different folder, perhaps on your desktop. Use computer management to install the drivers manually and see if that works. You are using older hardware so there's a slim chance it could be something else, like a outdated BIOS or chipset issue.

Card has been Returned.. Waiting for My moola back then I will go out and buy a GTX650
