But with some important caveats, before you get too excited!Users with Android-powered smartphones will soon have access to flat-rate data packages that have contributed to the success of BlackBerry smartphones.

Re: SA Android users get flat-rate data
damn that'll be nice, hope it will swing over to us sometimes, my android phone is extremely data hungry, over the weekend the facebook app just randomly synched the facebook calender in the background(yes i was not aware of it) BANG the next day i get a warning, ICS FTW , tells me my data limit is extremely high, used 350mb in one fricking day, and i went onto fb once on saturday via my phone, i raged so badly , i deleted the fb app

Re: SA Android users get flat-rate data
How exactly is a carrier limited data bundle an Android flaw?
I'm pretty sure an iDevice can chew through as much data as any droid :\

Re: SA Android users get flat-rate data
Nope, it doesn't come close. My 2 Android phones used to use an absurd amount of data, even through the night doing absolutely nothing from my side. Not a single app on my iPhone has ever gone rogue and done that.SykomantiS wrote:How exactly is a carrier limited data bundle an Android flaw?

Re: SA Android users get flat-rate data
In all my Android devices I have never experienced that issue. I really dont understand how so people setup their syncing...
Unlimited data sounds nice but meh wireless at work & home means I dont really use my data that much.

Re: SA Android users get flat-rate data
I've never directly compared my iPhone data usage to my Android device usage, but I do know that, without WiFi, I chew 250MB of data on my iPhone by around the 12th of the month.
Re: SA Android users get flat-rate data
Be glad you had a data bundle, or you would have gotten a whopper of phone bill.ADT wrote:damn that'll be nice, hope it will swing over to us sometimes, my android phone is extremely data hungry, over the weekend the facebook app just randomly synched the facebook calender in the background(yes i was not aware of it) BANG the next day i get a warning, ICS FTW , tells me my data limit is extremely high, used 350mb in one fricking day, and i went onto fb once on saturday via my phone, i raged so badly , i deleted the fb app
