I wondered the same. Looks like he got stuck with a cycling helmet and put it on backwards.

more to the point, what are our bowlers doing? Hey guys, here's a nifty idea: Let's bowl long hops to KP all day and see what happens.

Everyone making such a big fuss about the helmet has never seen the worlds current best test and fourth best ODI batsman play.

I don't get to see as much international cricket as I would like, so this was new to me.

Not making a big fuss, just find it intriguing. Wonder what benefits it has over the traditional design?

Same as Sturat, don't watch as much as I would like to.

More aerodynamic, less chance of being run-out.

Hahaha! Excellent!

Anyways, this test was shaping up to be a good one, but now it's going to end in a draw, unless there are some demons early.

Looks like the injuries are flowing in here. Luckily there is plenty of time between this and the next test, but still.

Just saw Smith limping off the field, missed the actual injury. If either of the three injured had to miss the 3rd test, I'd be very curious to see who'd take their place. Most probably Faf or Albie (who is also carrying a niggle).

Glad to see Tahir wrap up the tail, but I hope he starts taking more top-order wickets soon.

Well Faf is sticking around, and not going to the A-Side matches against Ireland, so that's good, if we do have an injury to our top order.

Smith did a slide to collect the ball in the outfield and somehow managed to hurt himself, didn't look like his knee got stuck or something, just landed awkwardly or something. Peterson should be fit in a week they say, so he'll be good for Lords. Kallis' back spasm is the major worry here I think. He didn't even show up to the field yesterday, spent the day on the physio table.

So who do you reckon's going to get Man of the Match for this game?

Though Smith's dismissal seemed a little dodgy.

Apparently AB's LBW wasn't out either. Heard about Smith dismissal, will check the highlights tonight.

I'd hate to be Swann right now.

Unless we bowl England out in 40 overs, Pietersen probably.

The man is a legend.

I'd actually like to see South Africa bowled out now and have a go at England for the rest of the day. Could make things very interesting.

Okay so England are not going to win this, so why doesn't Smith go on all out attack with his field? Confused... :(

*edit*

Nvm draw.

I agree. I thought Smith should also be more attacking with his field placing. But it was rather predictable once Pietersen fell.

Unless there is a & sign then you take the part between the = and the & right? :dontknow:

Oh my !@#$... did you see the Kallis dismissal?! That is, hands down, the WORST decision by any umpire EVER. Is Rod Tucker blind? Or just plain incompetent?

I had a friend at Lord's watching the game yesterday. I asked him if he could try to find Tucker and slap him for me.

Seriously, though, it's one thing when captains just chance referrals, but when an UMPIRE screws up like that, there's just not enough facepalm pictures on the Internet to do it justice.

Edit: That said, I wasn't actually aware that the hand had to be on the bat to be given out.
