Really hoping patch 1.03 gets released soon... Blue mobs with jailer & mortar combined, are not fun.
Anyone know what you need to reduce mortar type damage? They do 2-3k damage per hit to me. I have 47% damage reduction (from armor) and 20k HP. I'm a wizard, level 54.

So finally got to lvl 60 and thought I'd give Inferno a bash with my
38K HP, 4.8K DPS Monk
The first mob I encountered (no golds or blues) killed me in 4 seconds.
My DPS need to be quadruple what it is now, ans do do my resists.

dude what? I'm sorry to say this but... Diablo should take you NO MORE than 1 try on normal difficulty.

on standard equipment which is 10-15 levels below you at that point? hardly...

my DH would get cage trapped and lose 90% health following which she'd get fireballed for the remainder... and no amount of kiting could avoid this forever, (lags didn't help the kiting). all this while plinking the big d with what effectively amounts to a whiffle bat...

fact is the lack/scarcity of levelled drops is currently game-breaking.

My barb killed Diablo on normal without breaking a sweat and I have not visited the AH at all. In saying that Hell is causing me grief because blue mobs were giving me a hiding, however I did just change to a two-handed sword and better armour and seem to be just surviving...

twinked? because my first barb does far worse than my first DH... without life-steal she'd be perma-dead useless in hell...

at this point, i'm practising for HC in the hopes that the entry lag will one day be resolved..

No twinking(?) at all...

I had duel wielding going with both swords dealing +- 38dps with a few other bonuses and life steal. had rings with amped my strength & damage as well as a amulet that did the same. Armour is pretty impressive as well because its base protection is low (in the 80's I think it is) but the bigger armour units dont come close to it yet. I think I got some pretty good legendary drops...

You must have been really unlucky with drops man. I have now killed him 2 times. Once with a lvl 29 witch doctor, and once with a 29 DH. I will admit that I had bought some gear for the DH. But the WD was 1st toon, so had no money. I will admit I died 1 time, but that was because I didn't expect the fight, and had an AoE build. Even so, I got him down to like 10% before making a stupid move and dying. Re-specced for focused fire, and had him down very quickly. Was one of my gripes with the game ot be honest. The fight was a real let down.

Also please dont take this to be bragging. I am possibly the worst skilled gamer that I know, hell I never even finished Half Life 1 because I found the last boss so hard.

the thing which actually gets me is my wiz wandered through with one death... but my kit on that char was sort of ok... 23-29 at level 30, (my first normal char - my HC chars were just dead men walking)

my DH drops thus far have been shockingly bad, (middling 15-23 at end game) ... i'm sorely tempted to dip into my stash pool and twink her because nightmare is going to be a barrel of giggles without it... :/

Barb is the most OP, despite what some say

I saw a 52K DPS DH online the other night. Was about to shout OP at him/her but then saw only 9K HP...

Did a few hours grinding for gold and hit the AH last night.

Better equipment has seen my Monk shoot up to
40K HP with 470 HP re-gen per second (goes over 1000 with the my healing mantra)
12K DPS
191 resist across the board with passive abilities.

Need to get my resist and DPS to at least double, but need literally millions to afford the gear.
Inferno is still unplayable solo.

here's hoping that 1.03 genuinely does resolve the level drops... played another hour with my 38 wiz last night and the highest drop was a blue 28... yellows were all <20...
