Re: Official Battlefield 3 thread
why I have given up on trying to use stingers or soflam+javelin
they just can't seem to get the balance right between jets/choppers and anti-air anything.

agreed, maybe a noob question but tell me, when you shoot a jet/ chopper with a stinger, do the jets/choppers flares launch automatically?Off-The-Chart wrote:why I have given up on trying to use stingers or soflam+javelin

Re: Official Battlefield 3 thread
No. they have to press "x" to deploy them
And what is with the com centre sidebar. Why wont it refresh, I see in origin that someone will have logged off but it still says he is playing the game in com centrer. I have to refresh the whole page in order for it to show what is actually going on

Re: Official Battlefield 3 thread
yeah they launch manually and they lucky cause they also get a FIRE signal.
my biggest issue that notice, is that if flares are launched, they cause any rocket fired i that time span, to totally go off course.
yeah STIG my com was also buggy. got sent a friend invite and had to accept/reject it about 50 times before it was gone. also had the problem you mentioned.
I think it has to do with the new game modes cause I see looking at a servers info, it also comes up buggy.

Re: Official Battlefield 3 thread
Nope you have to manually launch flares and only if you are an engineer can you do it (think its X).
Shooting down aircraft I think needs sniper support to target the thing then you launch your missle.

um what? you can be any kit you want to launch flares in a jet. you just CUSTOMIZE your air with it.Nope you have to manually launch flares and only if you are an engineer can you do it (think its X).
also, to shoot down jets without STINGER/IGLA you use the SOFLAM+JAVELIN, but it can be countered by the jets ECM.

Re: Official Battlefield 3 thread
I had something like that, this fixed it:
Open the start menu --> all programs --> accessories. Then right click cmd and select run as administrator. And type in the following command "bcdedit /set increaseuserva 2500" (without the "" obviously) then hit enter and it should say that it was successfully completed
All you do now is restart and try play the game. I did also run services.msc and disable SSDP, have not touched it since as all is working so not sure if it was a combination of both that solved the problem

Re: Official Battlefield 3 thread
all of the supposed fixes to solve that issue that people suggested via google
basically most of them suggest you run origin as administrator
__________________________________________________________________________________________________________
turn on the v-sync
__________________________________________________________________________________________________________
I tried every work around out there including setting PB to compatibility mode, run as admin, and other really annoying tweaks. The way I was able to "fix" the issue is to hit the Windows key on my keyboard while the game is launching so that it puts BF3 in window'd mode while the match is loading with the little blue flashing square at the bottom right. Once it gets to where you can deploy you can go full screen again and all is well.
__________________________________________________________________________________________________________
Try setting compatible mode on Windows 7
And Mark the 'Run as Admin' bo
This worked for me:
1: Click on Start
2: All Programs
3: Accessories
4: Click the right mouse button on Command Prompt and run as administrator
5: In the window that opens type this command: bcdedit / set increaseuserva 2500 and press enter. If all goes well we will show "Done."
Now restart your PC

Problem #3 Battlefield 3 (BF3) Crash Fix – Crash to Desktop upon Launch / Startup
If you’re game randomly crashes upon launching the game, ensure or try the following:
Repair your Battlefield 3 installation. To do this, go into your Origin Client, right-click Battlefield 3, and finally click “Repair Install”. What will happen is that all the latest patches and updates will be installed along with a fresh boot of BF3.
Update your nVidia / ATI graphics drivers. Checkthese links for ATI users & nVidia users.
Turn off SLI / Crossfire
Try using only one GPU first (turn the other one off via your grpahics control panel)
Disable anti-aliasing and filtering
Disable V-sync
Disable background apps, and turn off your anti-virus software
Run through our list of general fixes (sans the Steam fixes), which will most likely resolve your problems
Doing the above are quick crash fix solutions for Battlefield 3.
__________________________________________________________________________________________________________
Go to taskmanager.
Look under procceses, find Origin.exe
Right click on the and close it down.
Now Start op Origin as administrator (Right Click on it and choose "Run as Administrator")
And now try to join the game

Re: Official Battlefield 3 thread
I know. Many people seem to have a similar sort of problem but it is caused buy a massive verity of things it seems
So far as I can tell it seems to be certain hardware software combinations that case it. None of those who I lan with have this issue
//I still get the "battlefield 3 has stopped working" message in co op and single player, but as long as multiplayer works I don't care......the campaign was rubbish imo

Re: Official Battlefield 3 thread
So i decided to start with the first obvious choice, repair installation on origin of the game , took 5 min, and then somma proceeded to download a 90mb update DAFuuuQ
All went well, update was done in 11min, decided to join a game quick, all went well for about 30min and then BOOM samer error again

Have you tried what I did yet?
I did all that stuff they claim works. repair install, removing the "TM" symbol from the registry entries, new user account.....nothing made any difference

Re: Official Battlefield 3 thread
btw dude here is the link to where I found the solution.
http://www.evga.com/forums/tm.aspx?m=1337896&mpage=1
I only found this because there was one time that it did actually give me a proper error message and not just the stupid one phrase fits all "has stopped working" one.

Re: Official Battlefield 3 thread
Uninstalling the game will fix your BF3 has stopped working error
But I also hate it when they say "turning off your graphics might help" or "buy a console".
