Re: AMD Buget build Sugestions
ok next question then. Where did you get your pricing from?
And on that look at the price of:
i5 2500 or i5 2500k, maybe even the 2400 or 2400k.
P67, z68 or z77 boards.
Gonna use titan ice pricing and links:

MSI z77A G43 - R1300 http://titan-ice.co.za/product_info.php ... ts_id=6842

Re: AMD Buget build Sugestions
On that subject if you don't mind dropping the nvidia card and going AMD here is something to look at:
The MSI Radeon 7770:

or the cheaper 6770:

Re: AMD Buget build Sugestions
i just had a quick check on http://www.sybaritic.co.za and i would prefer sticking to AMD
Re: AMD Buget build Sugestions
would prefer an amd card, just went with the 550 coz it seemed like the best preforming for that price and our local custom pc shop has a tendancy to overprice amd cards. But i found the 6850 scores higher on stock clock speed than the 7770 for around a hundred more
Re: AMD Buget build Sugestions
Any reason you want to stick to AMD for the CPU? I was also an AMD man, but when the performance gap is this whide for the same money, it becomes very difficult to justify sticking to AMD.

Here is the Intel stuff from Sybar
i5 3450 - R1888 - http://www.sybaritic.co.za/store/produc ... s_id=70616
MSI 7770 - R1624 - http://www.sybaritic.co.za/store/produc ... s_id=70474
MSI Z77A G43 - R1223 - http://www.sybaritic.co.za/store/produc ... s_id=70453
I am an MSI fanboi Been one since my BX440 days but I will consider alternatives when MSI doesn't cut it.
Same as what Kalster said, once you reach a certain price AMD stops being the better solution. Besides with these components your forking out an extra R500 or so.

Re: AMD Buget build Sugestions
Go intel. I see no reason for even considering AMD at this point, you get way more performance with the Intel setup. Yes and go MSI, that Z77 board is really well priced, the equivalent Asus and Gigabyte boards are somewhat more expensive.

Re: AMD Buget build Sugestions
Guys the OP is aware of Intel chips performance but he wants an AMD - he's said this twice now
Recommend one or don't post in his thread, I dont feel you are being helpful, and the fact that he's not responding to you gives me the impression he agrees

Re: AMD Buget build Sugestions
Regarding that ram. I had a look at my system last night, just tooling around, winamp and chrome on the desktop, my system was consuming around 3.2GB, just doing that. So if at all possible, I would suggest MOAR RAM. (Its Win7 x64, for reference)
I would say 8GB is the new 4GB

Re: AMD Buget build Sugestions
Right you are Jamin. In that case, I would say stick with a Phenom II x6 rather. Bulldozer is a bust imo. You can stick with that motherboard though. Nice value for money there.

Re: AMD Buget build Sugestions
Sadly AMD does not make sense to me anymore. Last time I looked at AMD boards the nforce boards were the best. The upside of AMD is your board and chip compatibility lasts 4-6 years.
That said your going for a 9xx series board which is suppose to support usb3 and sata6gb so it should be a good board.

Re: AMD Buget build Sugestions
lol nah you get used to people telling you intel is the way and learn to read past it, havent replied because i left my cell at work, i found a very nice card in on of our smaller stores in town you know the kind nobody talks about, they have a msi r6850 cyclone, im considering that card it 300 more than the 550ti but saw the preformace diffrence first hand so i think im gonna go with the msi card
Re: AMD Buget build Sugestions
Ok. So why do you want to stick with AMD? Don't you think Intel has better options for the same price? Because as much as I don't like the idea, as a matter of fact, they do.lol nah you get used to people telling you intel is the way and learn to read past it,

Re: AMD Buget build Sugestions
If you prefer AMD you obviously have your reasons so that can be accepted But my AMD boat has left and they never came back with a battleship to fight intel.
