Budget but awesome GFX card

Post by DJT »

Hey guys

Normally I would agonise for weeks about what gear to get for my beloved rig but after my trusty HD4890 left me last night I need to find a replacement card to order... by 12PM

I need something that is good, but won't break the bank, less than R1,500 if possible.
It doesn't matter if its AMD/ATI or Nvidia as long as it lets me play Skyrim and Minecraft and has 2x DVI ports. I can look at getting a more powerful card later on when I can afford it.

I haven't really been following the GFX card wars recently so I am appealing your collective knowledge which never leads astray.

Thanks in advance,
Dj

For R1500 you could get a Radeon 6790, but for just a little more there's the 6850.

A fraction over R1500, but not too bad, I like it. Can finally plug my PC into my new 40" Samsung TV :D (Old card didn't have HDMI)

That's a nice card for the price.
