I need a new laptop for next year and have been looking at some online. Which one of these would you choose and does anybody have any other suggestions? My budget is R15000 and I'll need to use it at school for work and gamming (I'm in boarding so a desktop is out)

Re: Which Laptop?
I'd say go with the first one, it's got the most Video memory so I can't see what's so hard about making a choice.
Re: Which Laptop?
I'd go for the HP Pavilion dv7, provided it comes with a comparable warranty. It comes with a Blu Ray drive and more RAM. 2GB video RAM is more than enough. The Dell does have a better screen though and backlit keyboard.

Re: Which Laptop?
With the choices I would have gone the Dell XPS 17 route. But it is out of your budget so I don't get why it's up there. Then go for the Dell XPS 15 and add an SSD for faster booting.
I recommend you get one with a dedicated keypad though. Working without that numpad is murder on your time and the alt function doesnt do wonders for it.
