You post your images onto a file hosting website like photobucket.com, and it gives you a image URL that you post and then your images will be loaded:)

That's some sneaky advertising. Careful you dont get banned, but you probably will be after this post. But if that is your future rig then I'd like to see pics before I believe it

Re: Post your Rig!
But if you're selling that as a complete build why aren't you watercooling it?

Re: Post your Rig!
@Slimshaedy
Apologies first of all if my post seemed like advertising. I honestly did not intend for that. I simply wanted to share my dream rig but didn't want to spam the thread with all the tech details, thus linking it to my site.
Regarding the watercooling. It was an option. I considered at one point on using Corsair H100 dual radiator cpu cooler but the Silver Arrow is just far more superior at stock. Top end air cooling > Entry - Mid watercooling. I have read many reviews and watched many build vids and read countless hardware forums and the cooling that the Silver Arrow provides is just amazing. Some people have been able to overclock i7-2600K to 5Ghz with the Silver Arrow. Supposedly stable also, but that remains to be seen. Here is a thread for 4.8Ghz stable:
http://www.overclock.net/14712761-post3195.html
The overclocking will also depend on the CPU batch. Not all 2600Ks overclock to 5Ghz. Its kinda the luck of the draw of getting batch that goes high.
I have not ruled out the Corsair H100 though. It would just need better fans which might require some modding. The thermalright 140mm fans are awesome and very quite but they are bit too big for the radiator. Would need to custom mount the radiator and fit it with 2x 140mm fans. The stock fans doesn't do the H100 justice. One upside on watercooling is more room for RAM with bigger heatsinks like Dominator GTs. RAM heatsinks are also overrated. Most RAM do not get warm enough to require any means of additional cooling and besides the Dominator Airflow fans are small and noisy.
At the end of the day the Silver Arrow would be the easiest to use and would still be able to reach 4.6+ Ghz stable with minimal fuss, whereas watercooling would require some form of modding to make it worth while.
PS. GPU watercooling would not be necessary as the HAF-X case has excellent airflow with a VGA duct and room for additional 120mm fan blowing directly onto the graphics cards. The case side panel also boasts a 200mm fan blowing on the cards.

Re: Post your Rig!
I can get 4.9ghz stable with my cooler, at 5ghz my temps are too high unless I switch off HT but I'll don't like that. Bro I'm 95% sure you will reach 5Ghz, your temps will be high but it'll get there. My temps at 4.9 reach 86 degrees on 1.42V. The cpu throttles at 95 so I'm only 10 degrees away from that which makes me nervous. You can keep the 2600K at 4.7 EASILY, temps reach about 72 73, our coolers are neck in neck regarding performance.
But you have quite a rig in mind, and I assume you're going to benchmark it? Hence the 2 MARS gpus?

Re: Post your Rig!
Hell yea. I will definately bench it Just hoping to get the MARS II cards as they will be on limited supply. They are simply sick. Even one would be ok but why bother with only one when building a dream rig right?Slimshaedy wrote:But you have quite a rig in mind, and I assume you're going to benchmark it? Hence the 2 MARS gpus?
I will be pushing the overclocking to the limits to obtain highest stable 24/7 performance. Maybe throw in a suicide bench also.

Re: Post your Rig!
Well, tbh this dream rig of mine was suppose to a reality soon but depending on the progress of and the time frame of the Ivy Bridge and Sandy Bridge-E I might hold out a bit. But a dream rig will only stay a dream rig if no action is taken so I don't intend to wait too long. I will be hounding my suppliers for release dates of the IB & SBESlimshaedy wrote:Why aren't u going for an Ivy Bridge rig?
If indeed it becomes available soon then I will certainly consider it but will be looking at benchmarks and obviously pricing. If indeed I'm lucky to get hold of 2x MARS II then its already a big chunk out of my wallet just for the GPUs. But in all reality, depending on how soon the new Intel architecture launches and the price of it will determine whether I might instead go Tri SLI or Quadfire instead to save bit on the total. Too bad bout the GTX590 having heat issues otherwise 2 of them would have been nice.
Re: Post your Rig!
Wow, the above machine is making me have second thoughts about even posting my new rig.
Here it is anyway.
Case; CM 690 II Advanced
MB; Asus Sabertooth P67
CPU; i5 2500K
GPU; Msi GTX570 Twin Frozr III
RAM; 8 Gb Corsair XMS3
PSU; Antec 750W Hi current/power Modular
HDD; WD 500 Gb and recently got the WD velocity Raptor 300Gb
The PSU has already being replaced by the supplier as the first one I got just restarted my system every time I started any game. The new one works fine.
I don't have a proper CPU cooler yet, but I'm looking at the Noctua NH-D14. Not planning on OC'ing, but I want the machine to run as quiet and cool as possible.
Are there any other CPU coolers that run very quiet in the R900 range?
Does anyone know where I can get the little 50mm fan that plugs into the MB to cool under the TUF guard?
Any advice would be welcome.

I tried to post my old rig but cramming it through that narrow opening at the local SAPO didn't do it much good...

Re: Post your Rig!
Well, I'm new here and instead of introducing myself, I'm introducing my rig. She's not very flashy and is rather humble, but gets the job done well!
CPU: AMD Athlon X3 445 @ 3.1GHz
RAM: 2GB Transcend DDR3-1333 & 2GB Patriot ValueRAM DDR3-1333 @ 9-9-9-24
MOBO: ECS A785GM-AD3 V1.0 AM3
GPU: VTX3D Radeon HD6870 1GB DDR5 @ 900MHz Core, 1050MHz RAM
HDD: 500GB Samsung single-platter (boot) and 1.5TB Samsung triple-platter SATA 3
OS: Windows 8 Professional 64-bit
PSU: Huntkey GreenPower 550W 80-Plus Bronze
Chassis: Cooler Master Elite 310
Planned Mods:
I plan to spraypaint the inside a matte black, get brighter and faster fans, cut out some holes in the motherboard tray to hide cables in the back and I want to saw off the bottom half of the hard drive cage to allow for better airflow to my GPU. And eventually, one 256GB SSD with the 500GB serving as a media drive and the 1.5TB in an external chassis connected to the router for DLNA-capable players.
