We're setting up an access control system in an area where wiring has proven to be nigh on impossible.
IP controllers so we though of using Wireless Ethernet Bridges and connecting the lot that way. But these run at nearly R1k a piece..
Anyone know of anything cheaper out there with similar capabilities? We're talking line-of-sight distances of 20m here.

If you have LoS, I would suggest going to the 5ghz band. Have a look at something like this. I guess the pricing would be similar. But remember, you get what you pay for, there is a reason why lets say a Wavion AP costs R25000 and a Linksys is sub R1000.
