Dodgy "bargain" RAM?

Post by StarPhoenix »

Hi

Have any of you heard of a PC component manufacturer called "Axtrom". My hardware supplier sent me an email listing some specials lately and the Axtrom DDR3-1333 RAM seems suspiciously cheap.

Have not heard of it either. How cheap is cheap?

As a general rule if you have never heard of it dont buy it. First find out if it is any good......

They are new and from Hong Kong and looks like they are making their own RAM chips. My advice, go with someone else. No reviews up yet and that always makes me nervous. They are probably cheap because they are trying to get in the market here...

I can get 4Gb DDR3-1333Mhz from my supplier for R159

Hmmm...I think I'll err on the side of caution then.

+1, You don't overclock. So the chances of generic 1333 ram breaking is kinda slim. :)

Do they come with lifetime warranty? Most RAM does, so if not, don't bother.
