How do I get access to Iphone apps?
My sister got an iphone and is looking at getting an ipad soon. I've already said she should download angry birds and cut the rope however the games are not avalible in the store or games search. I've found an article that said you should create a US account on the itunes store.
Has anyone gone through all the effort to get these apps and what steps did you guys follow to get them?

Re: How do I get access to Iphone apps?
Load Android for Apple.
Get games from Android store.
Realise Android does not have this draconian location driven limitation.
Ditch iAnything and go with a tech vastly superior.
/happy
Otherwise:
DONT register your phone on the local version of the itunes store.
If you did that it is tickets, you cannot go international from what i understand.
If you didnt yet, then you create an itunes account from a PC on international side, then use that account settings on your phone.

Right same advice as Sojourn however if you already created an account using a local email source and specified South Africa as your country then you will need to create a dummy email account elsewhere and use that account to create your iTunes account. When doing that specify Apples HQ addy as your residential address and voila you have a US iTunes account. If you want to buy anything from the store you will need to use vouchers. Thanks goes to ryan for getting me on the US account .

Will try to get my sis to make an US account. She'll probably take residence in Steve Jobs vacant office just like I am hiding in the closet of the Sony HR building

I wonder what will happen first? Apple realising that there are a LOT of people living in the basement of their HQ, and promptly ban those accounts.
OR
Apple realising that location based control is a rubbish idea.
Yeah... good luck with the fruity company doing anything but tightening their iron grip.

Android superior tech?! aaahahahahaha!
Can always count on the Android trolls pouncing on an Apple thread that has nothing to do with Android...
US store is definitely the way to go, only one I use, SA store has jack in it.
I'll remind the Android fangirls that until recently you were unable to purchase Google apps in SA.

/keeps with the off topic posting...
@ ryan we could purchase apps in S.A., we just had to do the round about way like Apple users are currently doing. Now however Android users can buy any app in the Google inventory without having to resort to trickery. So yeah 1 up on that score . I will agree in one area that Apple is superior and that area is starting to close very quickly, its retina display. Damn but that screen is awesome... However when pushing the iPhone its performance is not greater than the Desire in fact it feels kind of sluggish in some areas. However this is all my personal opinion and is utter garbage in the grand scheme of things...

@ GW you will probably find that unless Apple gets investigated for it they will leave it open because it increases their revenue flow. Methinks this topic has now run its course regarding its subject matter...

I think your iPhone (or a JB app) may be faulty man because my iPhone 4 is WAY faster than my Desire, even with loads of background apps open...
I still like playing around with Android, and should have a Galaxy S II in a week or two.

Re: How do I get access to Iphone apps?
Quite possible in fact 99.9% possible because I went mad trying to get it to work the way I wanted it to, although I am loathe to format the thing and reapply the JB. Wish it were as simple as the Android way...

I'd love to hear your thoughts on a rooted SGS2.

Ok what I know about phones is dangerous - so I will not be doing that.
How do I get access to Iphone apps?
Will have my SGS2 next week then will let you know, but it looks amazing, especially with Lite'ning ROM!
I like iOS, but as me and Anak were discussing, we miss tinkering with ROM's and different kernels and such, and after working on these 4.3" screens my iPhone feels a bit mini. Will be nice having both, for a good comparison...

Re: How do I get access to Iphone apps?
As a phone and a toy - you won't be sorry. But as something you mess with - well I could not possibly comment where that is concerned. Though I am tempted - but knowing me I would stuff something up. At least with PCs there is always a fix - not risking my phone I luffs it.
How do I get access to Iphone apps?
There's always a fix with phones too. I've always managed to unbrick my iPhone after a mishap...
I already have all the tools I need to root my SGS2 as well as the ROM I'll be loading, and I haven't received the phone yet...
