Windows XP's market share is eroding, and Windows in general is slowly slipping as well: between June and July, it fell 0.63 percentage points (from 88.29 percent to 88.76 percent). At the same time, Mac OS gained 0.22 percentage points (from 5.37 percent to 5.59 percent) and Linux gained 0.03 percentage points (from 0.95 percent to 0.98 percent). Unsurprisingly, mobile operating systems gained share.

so... by Windows share falling less than a percent they conclude that Windows is slipping?

Yea XP's time is coming to an end, lots of companies are now using windows 7. And if you go to any big LAN about 80% of the people there are using windows 7. But still XP is not going to disappear any time soon, lots of shops still use it as well as most schools and universities
edit// And what happened to virus ...I mean Vista, it has completely disappeared now
. Only a handful of mad people still continue to torture themselves with it

Anyone who buys it is a fool. Not because it's way too expensive and should actually be free (:P), but because Vista Ultimate is still WAY more expensive than Win7 Ultimate.

I know, anybody who buys this should be immediately taken to a mental home and then have a tattoo saying "I am the worlds biggest ID10T" put on their forehead
Mind you anybody who ever actually had vista on their PC should have this done to them

As much as you hate Vista, it did have one killer feature for a lot of people (myself included) - reliable 64-bit support.

Yea, I will admit that it did actually have decent 64-bit support
. Much better than that of XP 64-bit
. But I still hated everything else about it
