Wow that's nothing. Axiz has the i2500 for about that and it's got no warranty as it's in the store.

Pricing is a little off at the moment tho. People are not quite sure about the prices of SB CPUs and often want as much for their old core 2 duos as a 2500K but it'll right it's self.

Re: Anyone going sandy bridge?

Ok, so I have a burning question.

I bought my CPU in Jan already and then heard about the Intel issues so waited until this past week to get the motherboard. Had some hair raising moments in-between but, the less said the better. So now I have the following;

i5 2500k
4GB Ripjaws DDR3 1600MHz
Asus P8P67 vanilla (B3 Rev)

My question is, will this upgrade run fine with an old PSU? I have the Antec Truepower 550w but its about 7 years old now and I'm not sure it can power the new boards. I'm specifically worried about connectors. I know the new P8P67 board has the new 8pin connector which my PSU doesn't have. Will it work if I plug in the 4pin connector? Perhaps I need an adapter?

Thanks in advance for any advice.

b~

You can clock it quite a bit with the stock cooler. But if your planning on overclocking then its always a good idea to get a good cooler

I@ Pilgrim
M using my H50 on my 2600k. The temps are awesome especially becos its cold now. I dnt expect it to up too much in summer, my room is not hot
It idles around 24'c and on load during stress testing it goes up to 60'c. During gaming the most Iv seen it go up to is 58'c. And my processor is OC'd to 4.6ghz.
Just an idea of what a cheap H50 can do, the h50 looks good too.:)

@ Brad2.0: that's some seriously impressive temps. I've taken a liking to the H60, will just wait till the H80 & H100 get released to see how they price.

Do you have one or two fans on the rad and are they set to intake or exhaust?

Must say that I'm very happy with my 2500K so far...
