Radeon HD6870 Crossfire

Anyone here got a 6870 xfire setup? If so how does it perform...im thinking of going xfire or perhaps selling my 6870 for a 6970....thanks

Metro favours nvidia cards though. Going for crossfire will be your cheapest option in getting more fps though. Just dont know if your psu will be able to handle it. Just check the psu calculator.

Yeah, from what I see the 6870 card crossfire very well with close to a 100% increase. I checked psu calc out and it says that with crossfire it will use 484w...so should be ok?

484/0.8 = 604. It might be ok but 600w will be safer.

dude if i remember correctly a 600-650W psu is recommended for xfire so i would get a stronger psu before going xfire

That calculator works it out on a 90% load so you might make it. But even with that calculator I still do a division by 80% since your looking for a 80PLUS psu. All that it means is should all components draw power equal to 80% of your psu output at the same time your psu shouldnt blow.

And here I thought the 80PLUS/90PLUS/xPLUS indicated ideal efficiency states, not non-blowupability states.

+1 on a *GOOD QUALITY* 660+W PSU BTW.
