Hey
I'm going to a LAN this weekend and I want to know if there are any programs available that helps me monitor/control who is leeching from me. I know of the My Computer>Management method but that is quite slow and irritating. Is there any beter apps? Open source preferably.

Because it's a lan where you have to share an x amount. And I dont want to be greedy. (I'm talking about sharing totally legal stuff of course like family photos ;D)

Re: Software needed
You want to share family photos at a LAN? Right... I sense a lock coming... And people who share junk are the worst kind after to those who share viruses!
DC++ ?
If they don't have a DC++ server, I don't share.

I see nothing wrong with the request. This could be helpful for others as well in a business environment.

Stop being idiots. This is no way helpful in a business environment and we know you're not planning to share OR leech legal stuff at a LAN. Who in their right minds would have open shares letting any tom willy or harry take what they want!
As far as sharing is concerned. It's designed with security for a reason. The person you're letting copy from you needs your express permission to do so. So share what you want and turn password protected sharing on. Simple as that.
And since when does any LAN have a rule that you have to share??? Next you're going to be dealing drugs and doing drive-by's. Go to a legit LAN and have unadulterated fun for a change!
