WebAfrica Red Alert Special

Post by Stuart »

As incredibly cheesy as jumping on the red bandwagon is, this special is pretty decent. VERY limited though.

http://blog.webafrica.co.za/2011/04/meet-red-africa/
With the recent re-branding of Vodacom, there has been much hype with Cell C’s anti-red campaign and other brands jumping onto the “red” bandwagon either in support of, or to poke fun at the marketing hype currently going around about it. Apparently black is the new red – so we went with it! We’ve got an awesome Red Alert special happening every day to celebrate this. [...]

We spoke to our CEO, Matthew Tagg, to find out his reasoning behind this enormous change, and he had this to say: “We had an extensive look at the industry and concluded that red must be the way of the future. Our previous branding is unsustainable in comparison, so we have decided to join the ‘redvolution’”.

Reflecting more, Tagg admits it’s a gamble. “We’re a bit late to the party and ultimately don’t know where this is going, but if everyone else is doing it, it’s probably a good thing! Plus my mom likes red too“.

To celebrate, we have launched an exclusive “Red Alert” special for 30Gb’s at R199 and are also throwing in an extra 100Gb’s of Download Plus bandwidth free of charge.

Throughout the week we will open up the special for 30 sign ups every day at 12:00pm – first come first served. Specials close on Friday. These accounts will last for as long as the customer decides.
Ron, do you have access to Matthew Tagg? Please give him a big PCF :slap: for that "redvolution" chirp.

Kudos to him for throwing in the "unsustainable" comment though. Tell him I approve.

Nice find Stu!
You've now added another forum that needs replying too :P hehe

It's an awesome special though, I'm the first one to admit that. Our branding is sustainable again.
Let me know if you guys have any questions.

Great price if you aren't on 384 uncapped already.

Actually, now that you mention it, I'm assuming, Jeff, that this special applies regardless of your line speed? I can't see what difference line speed would make, but stranger things have been known to happen in SA's ISP world.

Correcto's bud :)
If you sync at 1Mbps or 10Mbps, you'll get your line speed on the accounts :)

Question 1: an "extra" 100GB of download plus ? Is this a once off thing or does it reset and for R199 we get 30GB normal usage AND 100GB of download plus EVERY month?

Question 2: Is it limited to just 384k or whatever you've got from telkom?

Question 3: Can we get this special without a landline, or better, can we order the special with installation of a landline through WA because I won't have one by the end of the week in time for the special.

Question 4: Where the hell have you been?

Meh, was waiting at noon, signed up, completed all the necessary fields, and it didn't add it to my cart. So I started all over again at 12:02 and was told that the dail limit for the special had been reached. :(

So howcome it didn't add it to my cart the first time when it should have?

Huh? Huh?

Synthesis my man!!
Check out below:

Answer 1 It's an every month thing. Total bandwidth usage will be 130GB's a month

Answer 2 No throttling on the account at all. Whatever you sync at will be the speed of the account

Answer 3 You can grab it, can't use it without a DSL line though. Unfortunately you'll need to order the line from Telkom, we can try and hurry the installation up and manage the line going forward :)

Answer 4 Around buddy.... been super busy here at WA! How you doing my man?

For the guys who didn't manage to grab one today, a few answers:

With yesterdays bugs, we changed the sign-up button function a bit. Only the first 30 clicks would have got through. Anything after that would have been redirected.

Um, you have the full weight of MyBB bearing down on you. I somehow don't think the end of the week will diminish the hype in the slightest.

IMPORTANT NEWS:

To make things easier, we've decided to change things up a bit.
The chances of getting an account are increased even more! We've seen a few guys post up here and PM that don't have access to their PC's during the day or the sign-ups are failing.

So, we're opening up the page today - and keeping it open until Friday. For all the guys that sign-up between this time are put into a draw - which we will randomly generate, mix it up and pick the winners from there.
Sound cool?

We'll be contacted all the winners on Friday, which is after Thursday - and then comes Saturday....
