Re: AMD vs. Intel
The biggest reason I wanted one was how well they OCed on just air cooling.
Re: AMD vs. Intel
and the i5 2600k is dirt cheap and it performs extremely well in games!

Re: AMD vs. Intel
Has everyone heard about the P67 recall? Ouch. Can't find any real news on it though.

Hopefully revision 2 is smooth and 2011 isn't plagued by similar problems.

We had a news piece up last week.Mystical_Titan wrote:Has everyone heard about the P67 recall? Ouch. Can't find any real news on it though.
It is NOT a recall. Intel has not issued a recall. Its merely set aside money to deal with the faulty chipsets as they get returned.
What I type has nothing to do with the people that employ me.

Well, that's what everyone is calling it, I only posted what I heard. Anyways, better to wait for revision two.

hard to tell the difference between "recall" and "not a recall" then... :/intel.com wrote:Q: What is the process for returning opened or integrated Intel® 6 Series Chipset motherboards to distributors?
A: Intel is requesting that distributors accept returns from their customers opened or unopened (even beyond 30 days) if affected by this issue.
<..>
Q: I have a system affected by this issue. What should I do next?
A: There is no imminent failure, and your product should be replaced. Go to your place of purchase for more information in the coming days. Some retailers are continuing to gather details about the situation before responding to customer inquiries.

Re: AMD vs. Intel
You see Intel is facilitating the replacement of the affected motherboards, distributors and manufacturers cannot reject a customers desire for a swop out but this is not a "pull all the motherboards off the shelves and phone up all the people who bought them" recall.
What I type has nothing to do with the people that employ me.

Clearly, he lives in some parallel universe where you get SKT 1155 boards with P55 chipsets on themMystical_Titan wrote:Some dude gave my partner a quote on a P55 board with a socket-1155 CPU.

Re: AMD vs. Intel
I'd have loved to buy one. At a price of R2000 it was the ultimate card. ...and then SA pricing hit with R3000.
