Can't detect my GT430 in Win 7 64-bit
Can't detect my GT430 in Win 7 64-bit
I don't know what is wrong, but I recently decided to get my a coy of Windows 7 64 bit and it can't detect my graphics card. When I tried to install NVIDIA drivers it says that there is no such device, and in the device manager under hardware properties it says Standard VGA adapter. Plus the disk that came with the graphics card did not even have 64-bit drivers. I did have a copy though, but as Windows 7 is not even detecting the card I can't install the drivers.
Any solutions?

Did you put it in the correct pci-e slot? Are all your power connectors plugged in? Does your psu produce enough power? Is the card faulty?

Yes to all your questions. It is working fine in XP and Ubuntu, so I can't understand why it is not working in Win 7.

Does your board have two PCI slots?
Try the other one if it does

It only has one. I can't see why it will be the slot as it works fine in my other OS. It is just in the 64-bit where it does not see the card.

Try updating your motherboard drivers with the windows 7 64-bit drivers. Then get the new 64-bit nvidia drivers from their site.

Where do I get the 64-Windows drivers at the MSI site?

Here is the link to my board. Click main board then select your model number and click the download link on the board page. Other than that try to download live update 5 from their site. It's like an auto upgater thing.

Are you trying to install the latest windows 7 x64 drivers from the Nvidia site?

Re: Can't detect my GT430 in Win 7 64-bit
Install Sound drivers, update BIOS, install Nvidia drivers. If this doesn't work there maybe a problem with the drivers or the motherboard or your card but it has happened to me and it sounds like drivers.
I no longer think of myself as Atheist however I reject religion as a concept where you must do x because someone says so. May contain nuts.
