0verclocking my 6870
I've managed to get my Sapphire 6870 to the maximum limits set by ccc which shows in msi AB. The limits are 1000 core and 1250 mem. I have unlocked voltage, but now I would like to go past 1ghz core.
Google brings up ways to flash your bios and use some tool called RBE (duno what it is) but I'm looking for a simple method.
The_Jelly might know how but he's a bit busy so I was wondering if anyone else here knows how?

Have you downloaded the latest beta of AB?

Re: 0verclocking my 6870
Hey Slim!! RBE is radeon bios editor and is a small program to edit and configure bioses... iv used it once when we flashed my mates 5770 to an msi bios.... Try go into the CCC make a preset called 'Overclocking' then go to C:/users/'Your account'/AppData(make sure show hidden folders is active)/local/Ati/Ace/profiles/'overclocking' and open with notepad..... try play with that... not sure if it will let you clock further but give it a try....if it does work im not sure if there will be a conflict if AB is open, so u may have to close it.... use gpuz to monitor clocks and voltages... good luck. post if this fix works so other 6 series users can benefit. if it doesn't work ill find a way.....

Re: 0verclocking my 6870
Thanx I'll try that. If it doesn't work I'm not keen to go though all that hassle of flashing the bios for about 35 extra mhz on the core value.

Re: 0verclocking my 6870
because quiet honestly that HD 6870 is capable of playing any game on max at 1080P with excellent frame rates. Why do you need more performance?
