Router Issues
Im running a 4Mbps ADSL line through a Billion 400G router. the connection to my laptop is via LAN because there is something wrong with my wireless on the laptop. my problem is that every few hours my internet connection dies on me. all my indications on the router are normal but my laptop shows that there is a communication error between the laptop and the router. i have already changed the cable and the problem remains... can this be a network problem on the laptop or a setup problem on my router software?

Re: Router Issues
It could be hardware. I have had issues with my billion bipack 7300.
Maybe see if a firmware update helps

Re: Router Issues
I had a similar issue with another Billion router. Switched to Dlink and it went away. I don't have much confidence in Billion routers.

I bought mine and all the ports have got something wrong with them. My faith is with Linksys-VPN enabled by default and the dual antenna models rock! (I have 3)

Re: Router Issues
Finally got my router issues sorted out... Believe it or not but the error was not on telkom's side or with the router. Problem was with Vista Home Basic... Laptop crashed and reloaded it with Vista Ultimate and *POOF* no more connection problems, even my wireless is working again

Re: Router Issues
Sorry to dig this out again... Bought a new laptop a few months ago... Still using the same Billion 400G router. The operating system is windows 7 and the wireless connection is working 100%. However... the intermittent connection is back AGAIN. I want to change routers but don't know what to get... was looking at D-Link DSL-2760U and someting from Linksys but don't know which one is the best. Any advice?

Something from Linksys. ANYTHING from Linksys over D-Link, imho.

Very popular router. You can't go wrong there, I'd think.
Edit: Not interested in wireless-N at this stage?

Re: Router Issues
I own the WAG120N and it's fine but I still get further reach with my dual antennae WRT54G setup.

Re: Router Issues
Ok I got my Linksys router today but now the question is... How do I get the router to accept multiple connections from a DL manager?
