Hardware required for ADSL, other than for Iburst connection

Hi guys

Our family's had Iburst as our ISP for the last few years, which is obviously now becoming poor value for money so I am investigating the possibility of getting an ADSL connection.

My question is: Do I need an ADSL specific modem/router or can I use the wireless Linksys router that I currently use to "share" the Iburst connection throughout the house. In other words, do I need to buy any hardware (other than what I already have) to be able to use an ADSL connection.

I would appreciate any guidance whatsoever.

If your router has a phone jack, then no. Otherwise, any adsl router will do.

if your router doesn't have a phone jack then buy a Dlink 2500u (costs about R200). Its a rasic modem that will allow you to send the adsl connection to your router which will then spread it throughout your house.
