What did i miss?

Re: Microft Tech-Ed 2010 - Durban
I am still recovering from going to the launch of the HD6870 and HD6850 and then going to TechEd. I did 64.5 hours of travelling in 8 days.

LOL. Ah the ever strong desire for freebies.
TechEd was interesting. I focused on the consumer side of things and went to Windows 7, Windows Phone 7 and Live discussions as well as a few security discussions.
The highlight for me was Windows Phone 7 which looks to be a very sharp, elegant and feature rich OS. I got ot play with a few devices from some of the manufacturers and was really impressed.

Re: Microft Tech-Ed 2010 - Durban
Sorry but Windows Phone 7 will only run on devices that come with it preinstalled.
M$ is determined to make the OS experience a pleasant one and that means that the hardware has to be preapporved by M$.

Re: Microft Tech-Ed 2010 - Durban
Ah thats a pity... but I understand where MS is coming from... all it takes is a few trolls installing a high-end os on a low-end phone and flaming MS for a "crappy OS"... I did manage to find a winPhone7 emulator for S60... but i'd give that a miss.I Guess it's back to my symbian hell then, was worth a tryKillerByte wrote:Sorry but Windows Phone 7 will only run on devices that come with it preinstalled.

Nokia will only use Symbian.
They have announced that they will not be making a Windows Phone 7 device.

So will they make it themselves and brand it as such, or will they sub it out to hardware manufacturers?KillerByte wrote:Nokia will only use Symbian.

Manufacturers like HTC, Samsung and LG will make Windows Phone 7 devices. They will brand the phones under their labels and then put the OS on the devices.
