HEELLPP!!
Hey guys I´m having a few problems with my PC lately(Actually since this morning) First windows wouldn´t boot so after a cleaning and reseating session, it booted. But now this afternoon I was playing Quake 3, when suddenly I got a error message saying: "Error in c:(quake´s install path)
Abnormal program termination

But at the top it sez something about Visual c++. I rebooted, thinking that would be the end of it, obviosly not,got the same message. Unfortinatly it seems that office 2000 has also been affected, as now I can´t run or delete it!! everytime I try to delete it it sez that the patching software could not be opened(?? ) Only one other thing, over the weekend I lost my password, so I used a cool little app which allows you edit and change your password before even entering windows. But this can´t be the problem because I still used, played, rebooted and shut down windows for the whole of Sunday. I´m running windows 2000 Service Pack 3. PLZ HELP!!!

deltree windows... works like a charm...

Seriously though, sounds like you´ll need to reinstall windows 2000 - if visual basic is screwed up, nothing will work well ( if at all ) so yup... time to crack out the win 2000 CD and get installin.

Lovely. Sh*t, that´s exactly what i´ve been trying to avoid. One problem though, I don´t have the deltree command anymore, it go bye-bye with the last format. But are you sure that there´s no other way around it? By the way, I got a Windows 2000 Pro AND a Windows XP Pro cd, what to do, I´m gona stick with 2000!!

No no no no... never put XP on a pentium 2 with 128Mb Ram - you´ll hardly boot up your PC. Reformat and install 2000. Ignore the deltree thing, it was a joke...

I figured as much about the whole deltree thing.(kind of hinted by lack of being able to go into DOS) As for XP,not a chance in hell!It may be a good OS,but 2000 is still much more stable and compatible.I got a friend running it with 128Mb(Sdram Pc133 )and it runs like crap. It´s cool, I´m gona reload it sometime this weekend, my bro is coming home,so he might just find something, but I doubt it.Well, it´s lasted longer than my Win 98 installs ever did.combined

Er yeah it´s only a 3 month old post, but just for your information Windows XP isn´t going to run well at ALL on a Pentium 2 with only 128MB SD ram, since it sometimes struggles on Pentium 3´s or 4´s with 256Mb DDR SD RAM.
