AMD Phenom II X6 1055T Review

Post by Drakonis »

Hardware
Last month saw the AMD Phenom II X6 1090T Black Edition getting a gold award. Not an easy task but a well-deserved award for a processor that manages to be a thorn in the side of the Intel Core i7 980X, which is simply the most powerful processor around. This month sees its baby brother, the Phenom II X6 1055T, being put through the paces and the results were a bit unexpected

I have one of these, they work great, stock HSF is too loud for my taste( seeing that my rig is open and run it @3.3 ) . With things like photo-render the extra 2 cores work like a charm. Hoped for a better 3D Mark '06 score tough ( 20,000' ish is the best). The part that sold it was the price......cracking value that :)

we can never comment on the stock HSF because we receive our CPUs in trays.
What I type has nothing to do with the people that employ me.

Stock usually covers the basics, It's well put together with the heat pipes and all. Just get the feeling it's a bit weak for the 125W TDP. The CPU is excellent though, as soon as my new case is done, I'll submarine it :)

Thankfully an effective basic cooler is pretty cheap, like a Deepcool or a TX3.
