Weakest link's Fiona Coyne found dead

Post by Synthesis »

Fiona Coyne, 45, presenter of the Weakest Link, died at her home in Fish Hoek on Wednesday, and not in a car accident as earlier reports had suggested. Police confirmed to News24 that her body was discovered at 08:40 by her domestic worker.

I heard that - sorry to hear about it. Never watched her - more a fan of the UK version. Sad though.

RIP

Sounds like she left notes; one for her mother and the other for her domestic worker. :?

i didn't know this person but i understand her brief fling with fame was as a second rate rip-off of some sad foreign show with a gimmick constructed around glasses and sarcasm...

i am unmoved because feigning sorrow would be disingenuous... :/

No. 1: Does this really deserve a whole thread?
No. 2: But it doesn't matter anyway, and it really doesn't surprise me, because:

To be fair, she was probably only like that on the show.

I don't feel sorry for her. She made an informed choice to probably take her own life. If the news are true, the choice was hers to make, she made it. End of story.
"Integrity" and "integer" both contain a Latin root meaning "whole; complete." The root sense, then, is that people may be said to be acting with integrity when their beliefs, words, and actions have a sense of unity or wholeness.

A pity that most people know (knew?) her only for the *tough* (for lack of being able to use the b-word) attitude that she had in The Weakest Link. She was actually a quite creative and talented person, that wasn't scared to stand out in the crowd... and, most important to me, she was someone's family member and friend. Doesn't make anybody bad to not like her - that's life and life's tough, but as you said, jee, the end of her story. I find it ironic how easily people still draw conclusions based on the outer appearance of others... *makes Napoleon move*

Chirese, I don't know it the media expected too much for her and she could not comply or got too tired. That is something we will never know. The Media out there, particularly now that "reality" TV is the only thing that really sell is the push for viewer percentages, is a b,astard. However, her choice. Always.
