LED for gaming?

Post by Slimshaedy »

I'm getting a samsung bx2335 soon. Its a 23 inch LED. Is it any good for gaming? Will a HD5830 be able to cope wit 1920 x 1080 res?
I'm just wondering if its a good buy or should I look at something else

I didn't know that they made LEDs that size.
Also, wouldn't and LED LCD screen be better for gaming than just a single 23" LED?

I have the XL2370. Lovely lovely screen. Was expensive though but the colour on it is just so much better than standard lcd. Cant speak for the BX screen but I wont be going back to lcd. Next stop is 120hz 3d led.

The reviews I read say its a LED backlit LCD? What is that? But advertised as a LED. Something like 5million to 1 contrast ratio. 2ms response time

Don't worry Slim. Monty is being pedantic.

Yes it's basically a LCD screen where the back-light is LED's instead of your normal CCFL (cold cathode fluorescent lamp). It's a LCD with a different back-light source.

If the HD5830 will cope with the HD res, your best bet is to look at Tom's Hardware for reviews on the card. They normally test on that res now as well.

Good luck.
