Lord of the Rings Online heading to free-to-play model

Post by Drakonis »

Play some for free
Turbine, the studio responsible for the Lord of the Ring Online MMO, and Warner Brothers has stated that LotR O will become a free-to-play title later on this year. Turbine’s other MMO title based on the Dungeons and Dragons universe made a similar move in September last year
"May the forces of evil become confused on the way to your house."

Actually it just became far more expensive. Anyone who played F2P games will tell you that the cash shop is far worse than a monthly fee. At higher levels it is needed to buy cash shop item to continue leveling/getting good gear/etc.
