Thx

I haven't really made up my mind yet, First prize is an Asus 1005PE (Good interface, Decent non glossy Screen, 1 or 2 year international warranty), Second is an Acer Aspire One -don't remember which model(One of the Cheapest, easiest to upgrade). I'm holding out because I'm still waiting to be paid( something I'll be querying next week. :x ) and because I want to see what offerings with Via's Nano 3000 processor will be available though this may prove to be as mythical as the GTX 380 Graphics cards

The other problem is the Availability of the Asus Locally and the Price. Its R2000 from Amazon.ca (I have relatives in Canada atleast) and i think close on 5k locally

I think its this one or similar. It has the non gloss shell and non gloss screen. and it has the pineview N450 Processor.

I got my Aspire One for around R2300. You're probably looking for a bigger screen though right?

but the screen is 15.6". Doesn't that defeat the object of a netbook?

That's not a netbook! That is a normal, low-cost laptop.

As far as I am concerned, the point of a netbook is price, everything else is disabilities! (ie if I can find a laptop for the same price, I will not think twice!)

somewhat, but my point is, that thing is the same price as many of the better netbooks and will out perform them.
