Windows 7 (Ultimate and Enterprise) and Nokia OVI internet

Hi all,

I'm running Windows 7 Enterprise on my laptop and Ultimate on my office pc and I use Nokia OVI suite via a N82 to connect to the net.

I fire up a connection and I can use the net but it freezes up and stops receiving data. It sends but receives nothing. Sometimes it freezes after 15min and other times it takes 2 min. I need to disconnect and reconnect to get the data through again but then it will freeze again. I dual boot the pc through to Win XP and connect using OVI suite and it goes for hours.

Anybody else had this issue and know a solution to this?

Download and update the Nokia software for each OS and try?

Try using the normal PC Suite for Vista/Win7.

My 6110 Navigator had the same issue. Turned out it was a firmware issue on the phone. Might be worth looking at.

Change product code, update firmware to the newest (v35.0.002) and that should sort it out

Already running v35.0.002 . Loaded that a while ago when it first came out. I've updated OVI to 2.1.0.87 which hopefully sorts the issue out. I will give it a try over the weekend and see how it holds up.

They're one and the same, only difference is the licensing.

Ok so the update OVI suite didn't solve the issue but I did find the problem.

The standard Nokia OVI suite creates the vlive APN for Vodacom connections. I removed that and created the standard APN and it's working 100%.
