Hi guys

It's no problem there flytek. I think flytek was running at 1.8 VCore though. Subzero temps make a huge difference when is comes to overclocking. Water cooling cannot begin to compare. I am still getting to know my new motherboard and it's limits. I am only using 1.7 volts on my VCore and getting 2.875 GHz on my CPU. The DFI can go up to 2.1 VCore if necessary though. The only Athlon64 motherboard that can, without volt-modding. I am hoping to bench at 3GHz still, but I first need to find my memory's limits. This is definitely the best Athlon64 motherboard I've had thus far. Memory voltage goes up to 3.1 volts as well. I gave my memory 3.0 volts the other day and ran some tests at 260 MHz with 2 x 512 MB DIMM's which is promising as it means I should get higher with just one stick.

The only difference between the FX53 and my 3700+ is the former is dual channel, which gives massive memory bandwidth. And the benchmarks love that. FX53 gets 6000 mb/s and mine gets 3100 mb/s. So to try and compete with an FX53 you have to push your memory bandwidth as high as possible. So far I only have 3900 mb/s

I would post a link to my rig, but it's on another forum and I don't want to get in trouble with the admin of this site.

Here's a little pic though during installing my Mach2 on my cpu.

Nice to c u back, solo :D . What do u think of the ABIT KV8 MAX3? I will only be using air cooling on my 3700+ so mine kinda like the little brother to ur 3700+ .

How much do u think I will be able to OC with air cooling?

dammod, the 3700+ is an awesome overclocker. Don't think I've seen a bad one yet. flytek is best person to answer Abit questions. I've never had my own, but I recon it's good.

If anyone has high scores then feel free to add them to the SA database that has been started. It's not forum specific, so it's open to anyone in SA.

i thought i told you allready. it's a good board. just run seagate ide drives to avoid high fsb sata corruption and stay at or below 2.8vdimm. i had one up to 245fsb with solo's ram once.

I have a Western Digital Caviar SATA150. Is that not a good thing? If not why?

Great going Solo, as usual breaking most SA benchmark records. Also awesome setup that ur running there Solo, that DFI mobo must surely have knocked those score by a thou or so.

As for those mem bandwidth differences, those are extreme and probably explains why the Fx-53 is what it is. I see that u have the Mach on it, i thought that u would have broke the 3ghz barrier with it, but as you say you need to learn the limits and strenghts of that mobo and i'm sure you will.

Anyway good luck with the benching Solo, hope u manage to crack 15k in 03 and 7k in 05!

I have OCed my GF4 MX440 to 400/425 core/mem and I am too scared too play the demo of doom 3 because I am scared I fry my card. Will it fry and if so will I just be able too change my card or would I need too replace the whole mobo too?

PS. sorry 4 hogging the thread

Last night I overclocked my 9800 Pro using radlinker and omega drivers on my A64 3000+. I got 6349 in 3D Mark 03 and 20003 in 3D mark 01 SE. I know its not in Solo's category, but I beat the score posted in the July issue of PC Format for the 9800 XT running on an A64 3200+
