Take a broom and hit them till they get of your case {Pun intended}

If you have ZoneAlarm running you shouldnt have a problem

why not push him off your PC! it will serve him right for getting on your pc! If you don't know him, make sure he doesn't run away with your PC.

If you're using XP, go and update it or download all critical patches.

Some programs scan the ports on your PC to see which ones is open. If it finds an open one it send that information to its owner/controler who can then try to exploit it. A good idea is to only have the neccesary ports open.

My setup at home is Norton Internet Security 2005 on my server and ZoneAlarm on my client PC. No problems.

I had some bad attacks when running with Micro(NeedViagra)soft XP's firewall. Some monkey managed to restart my PC the second I went online for about 10minutes. After the new firewall no more problems.

You might want to check out the sygate website and run the security tests from there. It shows which ports are open and how well protected your system is. Run it with the firewall on and without it.

And you could also rub vasoline all over your pc to ensure they cant climb on.

Cheers

if its over the network that they are controlling your pc, then look for software called PC-anywhere, and uninstall that programme.
when in doubt, paddle out... ;)
