Somebody didn´t get it this morning.
 
 snipeers, try some Old "BRAIN" flakes, maybe that would improve our ppl skills.
 
 Who TF cares anyway, the asked how to get his IPADd. and some questions on a file ext.

 You´re the most stubborn SOB I´ve ever encountered! Did you have anything to do with the development of Windows 95? No? I didn´t think so. Just for the record though, Microsoft also says Windows 95 doesn´t have IPConfig.

 I think the tread is over and done with 2 pages back but for some childish reason everybody started flaming each other just to prove that they are right or wrong.
 
 Only1 & Snipeers, both of you have a world of knowledge, but the secret of having and intellectual mind is to keep it tamed.
 
 Lets keep it real and try solving issues in a humanly way.

 but who says it can´t be done...
 
 NOTE: The Ipconfig.exe tool included with Windows NT Server in the Clients folder for WFW does not work with windows 95/98 computers. Instead, use the Ipconfig.exe tool from an installation of Windows 98 (it works for Windows 95 clients as well).

snipeers, yes you can copy IPConfig.exe from a Win 98 PC to use it on Win 95, but assuming the guy who originally was asking how to determine an IP address is using Win 95, it is unlikely he´ll go to a Win 98 PC, copy IPconfig.exe onto a disk, go back to his PC, copy it into his Windows directory and then run it.

 O1K. please. tell me. how many times should i tell you that, i wasn´t arguing to you all along which is simpler to use in Win95/98 - be it ipconfig or winipcfg i don´t care - but rather, what i´m arguing is "i don´t see any reason why i can´t use ipconfig" PERIOD the bottom line is, ipconfig can be use in Win 95/98. is that hard to comprehend or i´m getting a bit too technical?

yeah snipeers I get you - but you must keep in mind that the thread was supposed to help the guy who asked how to get an IP address -it´s not a hypthetical question of whether or not IPconfig.exe could work on any platform or not, he wanted to know how to check it. I´m trying to help the guy ( although he´s probably long gone by now ) and you´re just contradicting me all the way - anyway, enjoy your weekend.
 
 PS. I apologise for flaming you earlier, it´s just I guess I´m stubborn and so are you <IMG SRC="images/forum/smilies/icon_razz.gif"> ! So can we call a truce?
