Oh wait so they deny people access to something which is freely downloaded from the net of all things and they are concerned about viruses on cover disks. Oh and what makes them able to support the billions of downloads from their site rather than that measly million distributed on cover disks.

Oh they suck big time. Microsoft shall henceforth be known as Macrosuck-the-life-out-of-the-ignorant-consumer.

You guys should think about making some sort of index or archive that a person can search to find any software that has been on previous issues of the pc format dvd. I know it sounds like I am being lazy but I am not. Some of the cover discs do not have all the software on the disc printed on the back of the disc cover and it is a dam mission trying to find anything. Please think about it

Hi i'm new to the forums and hope to have a good stay.
Well I don't know where to post this but could you put the World In Conflict 1.010 patch on the disk. It's required to play the expansion but it's 900MB+ which I can't really download without getting in trouble.

To my knowledge we have not included that patch before but I see no reason why we can't.

I'll try get it on to June's cover disc.

Welcome to the club leo.

This idea has been thrown around for years - to no avail. We even started an effort to create a thread listing the disc contents once but that died vERy early on.

I can now confirm this to be incorrect. I have installed the expansion on an unpatched version of the original with no trouble.

I will however investigate the need for this patch and see if we can include it on the June cover disc.

In order to properly play Soviet Assault you must ensure that the game is patched to 1.01. This patch is roughly 1GB in size and must be downloaded and applied before the game can be played with Soviet Assault. This is a burden and an utter waste of time because the game itself did not come bundled with it which would have allowed me to play the game right away and not have to wait to download and apply the patch.

I would like that too, but as stated before, the idiots at Gpotato dont respond to emails asking for permission, so PCF cant include it to the DVD :(

Let KB put it on anyway, that way Gpotato will contact him.

Yea well, i still dont really understand why you need permission to distribute something that is free. :? Meh, doesn't really matter, i just wish they would start acting like they do work.

EDIT: Them = Gpotato, not PCF.

The company that presses our disc will no press a single disc without every single piece of software having a permission letter.
