Free web dev Software

Hi

I wanna make a simple 2 to 3 page website. i need something that is visual and completely free. This will be my first attempt and would like to be able to make a modern looking website. What software should i use and what tips if any do you guys have.

Thanks, i am using Komposer already, but its not all that good.

I wanna be able to put some nice menus in and buttons on the page but it doesn't seem to cater for too much..

The website caters for an "install" download. is their anywhere i can get a download that i can install on my own ?

try notepad and paint. That's how real web developers do it.
