Antivirus / Firewall replacement solution

Post by Synthesis »

Ok, there's been a lot of threads regarding what's the best security software to use. I came across this hardware solution which I definitely want to look more closely into. As soon as I see them becoming locally available, if not already, I want to get one. Maybe some input on this type of technology would be helpful, concerning it as your current security replacement.

Nha i think its pretty dumb.

The inline security device looks like it can work as it probably uses Snort to analyse the traffic as it comes past.

The USBstick is a gimmick!

Anyway this is south africa if you leave it in your system the whole time people will think its a flashdrive and steal it.

And if its not connected is your system compromised ?

Avast is the best for me so far..but yeah I think the Gatekeeper Pico Pro is a good idea, but I think its going to burn a hole in my pocket.

Enjoy.

This is a great little idea but it needs implementing with a systems motherboard from the start.

as security goes, this is one of the more hilarious solutions i've seen...

option 1) installed application which can only be bypassed by admin or

option 2) pluggable kit which the user chooses when s/he will use it, (if they didn't forget it at home, break it, drop it in the toilet or are simply too lazy to insert)

making security pluggable for the user who presents the highest risk to your network is a little.... adventurous...

Which is why it should be implemented into the motherboard...

Oh

Thats crazy.

Maybe if it was cheaper, and you could connected to a USB plug inside the PC.
It might work, It still needs to read from files off your harddrive so it will still slow it down abit.

This is like a "bootable PC game" idea, not going to work,
