Possible to repair laptop speakers?

Post by atomwissenschaft »

I've got an Acer Travelmate 4500 Series laptop with speakers that make crackling noises when playing something. Acer is not able to supply me with a replacement pair as the product has been discontinued a while back according to them. So my question is, if it is possible to have them repaired somewhere?

Thanks :D

Look in the modding supplies thread, there is a list of suppliers of various things, one of the electronics suppliers should be able to supply you with new speakers. But you could also take a trip to look and listen and buy one of those speaker modules for MP3 players. :)

http://www.notebook.co.za Give them a call and speak to sales. They're usually pretty good with getting parts. Just don't send your notebook in. They charge R650 rejection of quote fee.
