Hi just want to know what speed I would get this CPU running at?

like most core2's you should hit 3ghz pretty easily with slightly bumped up cooling....

What heatsink would I need to keep it cool at that speed?

I'd recommend a Thermalright TRUE 120. it will keep you proc cool and allow for future clocking. plus i see the thermalrights are now compatible with core i7 with a adaptor kit.

but that said if you get a stock intel cooler with the copper core in it you should be able to use that @ 3ghz. i use the stock cooler for now, until my order is shipped. and it keeps my q6600 @ 35 idle and 56 full load. ok granted the sink is lapped slightly,.

would I also need to atatch a 120mm fan to thator would just the heatsink be fine?

Hi Ryan

I have an E4500 stock speed of 2200 MHz overclocked it to 2930 MHz. Using a gigabyte 3D Rocket cooler with temps under 60 degrees Celsius under load. This is really not one of the best coolers.

I am sure you should be able to hit 3 Ghz easy of the stock cooler.
