since the last 3 days my internet has been unstable. pages would load then it wouldn't load, upon hitting F5 a couple of times then it would load again and it keeps doing that. says address could not be found. tried different browsers to see but the problem still persists.
then i tried surfing on my other machine which is using xp and everything works fine.
so i then uninstalled all the windows updates since the 3rd of this month from my vista machine and the problem is still there. now i don't know what else to do.
vista ultimate x64, adsl 384k

Re: vista internet unstable
ISP / Telkom Line / even modem is packing up?
Run a ping command -> open command prompt and type: ping -t www.google.com
chances are when your pages stop displaying you willl receive time-outs. Then you know it's your connection. It could still possibly be something on your PC that's causing it, but I would start at the connection. 1st step though is to give Telkom a call on 0800 375 375 and go to desktop support and ask them to reset your port. Most common problem that gets sorted out by a phone-call. come back to us after that.
