win2k admin problem

Post by ckritntt »

Hi.
I recently installed win2k sp4 and everything went fine until a couple of days ago when I noticed I couldn't change the time on the pc.I immediately checked the "Users and Passwords" settings in the Control Panel and it says that i'm in the administrators group.I even tried installing something and was allowed to do that. When I try to change the time it says "You do not have the proper privilege level to change the System Time".Does anyone know what I can do to remedy this?

Cheers :)

Have you looked into the account policies; system policies and user policies? you maybe part of the admins group but if you dig deeper into the security features you might just find that something got changed along the lines. i cant remeber much havent worked with win2k for ages.

Use the Microsoft Management Console (MMC) - Go:

Start - RUN - MMC

And then add a "snap-in" for "Group Policies"
