Re: Fallout 3 opinions
You see halo thats where my problem comes in, I ran into 4 Super Mutants and ran out of ammo on the second, picked up his spiked club, beat the snot out of the 3rd and died by grenade fire from the 4th . All this by the police station . I think I am going to redo my character and make a tanker/mechanic might do better that way...

@ Anakha56
You seriously deserve to play this game after everything you went through..
Give the game some time. I got owned a few times as well in the beggining.
As for the walking around. I like. You keep finding loocations that get marked ony your map.
So the more locations the less walking around......
Plus I found with the walking for missions . There is often weapons and ammom lying around.
Just check out all around you for buildings and so on..
This game is the best I played in ages... So many side mission...

Aint that the truth.Acidkidsa wrote:This game is the best I played in ages... So many side mission...
And now I have to start all over again. My HDD's FAT just went booom last night. Now I have to re-install and see if I can't recover some of my files. Luckily most of my crucial data is written to DVD for exactly this reason. But my saved games
Hmmm.. Just shoot them in the head.Anakha56 wrote:You see halo thats where my problem comes in, I ran into 4 Super Mutants and ran out of ammo on the second, picked up his spiked club, beat the snot out of the 3rd and died by grenade fire from the 4th . Re: Fallout 3 opinions
I think my problem is that I went with a character I wanted whereas I should have gone with a tank to get used to everything. So I am going to restart the game and make a tank to take mutants head on with hand to hand and big guns .

So far my best gun (most common gun - not the Fatman)
has to be the combat shot gun.. close shot to the head kills those super mutants quick..

+1 dude. I walked into a trap with 4 of them. One on a rooftop with a rocket launcher, two on the ground with hammers and a fourth was standing some wiles off just lobbing grenades at me. Downside was that my sniper rifle didn't have any bullets leftAcidkidsa wrote:So far my best gun (most common gun - not the Fatman)

Re: Fallout 3 opinions
Fallout 3 and myself have had another "Fallout" the game refuses to load my save games . I think I am going to wait until I finish my other Securom games and once thats done, format re-install windows and then play this friggin game .

Re: Fallout 3 opinions
One more thing... Dont finish the game. Once you finish the game , it pretty much game over .
You cannot continue playing all the side quests.
Play all the side quest first IMO..

Re: Fallout 3 opinions
So I tried to crack my original to see if that would work and...
It still failed to start a new game . Sometime in December I will do a format-reinstall until then this game gets put back on the shelf...

Re: Fallout 3 opinions
are you serious? you cant carry on playing when you finish the main quest??? thats a load of bollocks!!! obvlivion was so good because you could just level up and carry on your own mission! nooooooooooooooooo
when in doubt, paddle out...

Yip I am serious.. I played finished and it went back to the main menu..po10cy wrote:are you serious? you cant carry on playing when you finish the main quest??? thats a load of bollocks!!! obvlivion was so good because you could just level up and carry on your own mission! nooooooooooooooooo
So I loaded up a old saved game upped my levels a bit through some cheats , and continued playing all the side missions...
After I finished the game my opinion of the game changed. I give it 8/10.
Re: Fallout 3 opinions
have you tried making a new game since you finished it? maybe it lets you start a new game with your character you finished it with?
sheesh i hope they make a patch to fix that

Re: Fallout 3 opinions
better yet, don't finish the game at all... there's more challenge to be found in the side quests...Acidkidsa wrote:Dont finish the game. Once you finish the game , it pretty much game over .
the main story is about as engrossing as a scab... the ending is just... bad... more along the lines of "it's really late and i'm missing out on some football so here's your 2 seconds of creative thought" bad... while i get that the game was designed to run on consoles, (and therefore was built to appeal to a certain market), for bethesda this is just... blegh...
that aside, the game is still fun to play... much more so than farcry 2...
@Anakha56: while it starts slowly, it speeds up as you gain experience and perks... the sniper rifle is your best friend - used only to soften up the larger targets... thereafter, even a hunting rifle + VATS will do the trick...
the fatboy is impressive, but i keep dosing myself at inopportune moments...
my biggest gripe with the game is no quick switching of weapons... having to access the pipboy for a weapon change mid battle is just silly...

Proper tech support? A decent engine that does not require a shyte load of "fixes" to fix it?Acidkidsa wrote:Yeah the game is really good. But its missing something...Pieterpan wrote:Im dissapointed om this game it could have been much much better. I rather play oblivion again than this.
/sorry I am just a little peeved off with all the things I have to do try and get this game to work and the fact that there is no "real" support to speak of from Bethesda...

Re: Fallout 3 opinions
I think the problem is this.
While you playing the main missions you frequently ran into some side missions.. Once completing the main mission , you aimlessly run around looking for stuff to do..
I think they rushed the story line a wee bit ...

Re: Fallout 3 opinions
im wondering now, do you have the option to buy things like maybe your own shack that you can kit out? you know like oblivion you could do that. that would be awesome if you could buy a shack that would come under attacks from mutants and raiders etc, and you could beef it up with robots for security or turrets and security cameras etc.
