If you are actually going to store files under a user profile it is advisable to keep it as you had since you don't want to impede upn the OS's space.

Did you shut down the PC in windows properly or did it have a "dirty" shutdown?

Re: How to create a partitions
I shutdown my computer and wake up the next day. Now it work fine!! No problem.
I got to System > Administration > Synaptic package manager
and search for NTFS and install package NTFS Configurations Tool.
Now it work fine.
Remeber to install the NTFS-3G package too.

Re: How to create a partitions
When Vista boots it load the Ms bootloader from MBR then loads the Ms boot menu.
Its easier to install MS first then linux as linux wil dedetct ms.
You can try using nero and create a boot CD then choose to load the boot file from the ubuntu CD
its a file called SBM. Then boot that CD (SBM = Simple boot manager)
Or use winrawrite and write the image file to floppy and boot from the floppy.
I'm not sure if you can use the SBM to configure the boot, I think it does.
